After clicking on the play button under your horse or the Track your ride button in order to start the recording, you have the option to enter your training type. On this page you can also change the countdown before the recording starts and find advisement on phone placement.

Even after the ride, you can still adjust the training type by clicking on your recording, selecting edit and making the desired change.
